I do wonder why Badalamenti didn't do the opening credit music (I can't remember if he did any music for this film), but during the credits, that's Richard Strauss, and part of his Four Last Songs. In my opinion, he sorted it all out and set to work on rattling off a series of staggeringly great films. I could go on but we all have our own likes and dislikes so it really doesn't matter. 'Oh, that weird filmmaker.' So you've got Jingle Dell, and the abortion scene, and Sherilyn Fenn poking her finger into a hole in her head, the dog stealing the hand (a nod to another 'weird' filmmaker, John Waters' but in Desperate Living, the dog steals another part of anatomy), and the frankly insulting deus ex machina ending.

I find it to be a parody not of a Lynch film, but of what people think a Lynch film is. Yeah there was another thread on this recently, and I can't remember exactly what they said but someone replied that he'd gone to see it with his wife, and they both felt they needed a shower afterwards.
